Liveguide

A live video discovery startup I founded with three fellow Hyper Island alumni. The idea was basically a TV-guide for the Internet. We created an app that helped you curate millions of live video channels into a personal guide, and to notify you when your favorite broadcasters go live.

What we worked on

Showcased up top are the 3 apps we created during our time with Liveguide, which served a combined 80,000 users with 10 million live channels:

  • Liveguide - General streaming guide, with access to all live channels we had available.

  • Noclip - Gaming-focused version, curating everything from twitch streamers to esports tournaments.

  • Dreamhack.tv - White-label version of Liveguide, tailored for the shows and esport tournaments of the worlds largest digital festival.

Takeaways

Launching a startup so early in our careers (we were all 20-21 years old) came with many learnings, much of which is thanks to the incredible coaches at our startup accelerator, STING, and our investors, TV4 Group. Stepping outside my comfort zone as a designer to take on the role of a startup founder made me grow significantly as a person. It was a great learning experience that I still draw from to this day.
